Have you ever been told to “take a deep breath” when you’re feeling overwhelmed by stress or anxiety? It’s a phrase we’ve all heard countless times—offered like a universal remedy for emotional turbulence. But have you ever paused to consider the deeper wisdom behind those words? Beneath its simplicity lies a compelling question: Can something as instinctive and effortless as altering the way we breathe truly soothe the mind and quiet anxious thoughts? AROMATHERAPY
Aromatherapy is the use of essential oils from plants for healing. Although the word “aroma” makes it sound as if the oils are inhaled, they can also be massaged into the skin, or rarely, taken by mouth. You should never take essential oils by mouth without specific instruction from a trained and qualified specialist.
